Good afternoon!! Merry Mary Oliver Monday Treehuggers! We hope y’all had a fantastic weekend and we are sending good vibes for this upcoming week. Today we are keeping it short with just a poem and some food for thought. Mary Oliver take it away…
We’d like to think of this poem as a gentle reminder to slow down. The world is so busy we can easily get wrapped up in the chaos. Many of us are probably starting school or work up again and things can feel overwhelmingly fast. Mary Oliver reminds us that the earth is not about urgency! Life is about embracing the little moments carefully. It is about appreciating the beautiful things like stars, mountains, and trees. All of which are a testament to the art of tender stillness. Your homework for this week is to find a moment of stillness, whether that be meditating, lying in bed, or sitting on your porch. Find poetry within solitude. Goodnight Treehuggers, we love you!

One response to “An Ode to Slowing Down”
Thank you for this great reminder. Too often I find myself getting wrapped up in unnecessary weeds and this gentle reminder came in perfect time for me. I will make sure in these next couple weeks to slow down and enjoy everything around me. I’m gonna have to leave this one shorter because I have to go but I can’t wait for more Mary Oliver mondays to come! I’ll add this to my list of homework to do for sure. Really excited about this assignment.
